Brand Highlight: Eddyline Kayaks

Eddyline has been building high performance kayaks for over forty years. During its inception Eddyline built kayaks with Fiberglass and Kevlar composites using industry leading techniques like vacuum bagging to create kayaks that were stronger and lighter weight. As the company evolved Eddyline starting Computer Aided Design and Direct Machine molds to improve the efficiency and performance of their kayaks.

Rotomolded plastic kayaks became popular in the 1980's and the cost of the kayak dropped considerably. The limitations of rotomolded materials meant that they were heavy and difficult to repair. Eddyline deliberately avoided the rotomolded craze and went searching for a material and process to be lighter weight and easier to repair. In 1994 Eddyline built their "dream machine" to start thermofoming plastic from a mold.

The thermoform process allows for a lighter weight kayak that is extremely durable and has better directional stability than a rotomolded plastic kayak. The thermoform material, Carbonlite 2000, also stands up better to high heat exposure and UV Rays, not to mention the glossy finish.

The assembly and finish of a the kayak is a complex process, that requires a deft hand and attention to detail. Eddyline employees take pride in their products and go above and beyond to ensure that each boat that leaves the manufacturing floor is of the highest quality.

After 20 years of thermoforming Eddyline has applied this process to Kayaks built for touring, Recreational Paddling and Fishing, offering one of the most comprehensive line on the market.

The exceptional attention to detail, the lightweight materiel, and the fact that they are a locally owned and operated company, are all reasons why Olympic Outdoor Center now carries the entire line of Eddyline Kayaks. Stop in to learn more or to paddle an Eddyline Kayak today!
